Confession: I’ve never loved my birthstone. As an August baby, I always felt like peridot got the short end of the gemstone stick—overshadowed by the deeper hues of sapphires, rubies & emeralds. But this year? Something shifted.
Lately, I’ve been completely captivated by soft greens—those dreamy, seafoam shades that feel like a breath of fresh coastal air. Whether it’s the muted tone of a watercolor wash, the glimmer of a hand-set gem, or the light filtering through a glass pendant lamp, I’ve found myself leaning into this palette more than ever before.
This month’s mood board is a celebration of that shift. It’s a mix of inspiration—from handmade jewelry & watercolor florals to cozy knitwear, painted decor & soft textiles. Everything is grounded in the calming, ocean-kissed hues of peridot, mint & sage.
And as a shameless but humble plug—if you’re drawn to these soft green tones too, you’ll find them woven into some of my latest pieces. From delicate coastal-inspired jewelry to original watercolor art, I’ve been letting this palette guide my creative process all season long.
Want to bring some of these looks into your space or wardrobe? You can shop the pieces featured in this board—& explore my latest creations—below. Some of the links are affiliate, which means I may earn a small commission—thank you for supporting my small business & creative journey.
Here’s to growth, new perspectives & falling in love with old things in new ways. Happy August, mermaids.
Much love from the coast,
Tracy | Marie & Oakley
